Allsorts is on Tour

Lots of paintings, mostly of people's faces or of people from their heads to their shoulders, are shown pinned to a board that is taller than it is wide. There are two paintings on the floor, just under the board.

Allsorts is our creative taking part project for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. It is happening at Sherard Road Day Centre for two seasons. We are showing people how things can be when everyone is free to create art and socialise!

A staff member said: β€œIn a society where we are so governed by rules and risks, it felt great to foster a space and environment where we were concerned mainly just by being ourselves and having a good time.”

People painted portraits, made faces, dogs and shoes out of clay and did a dance workshop. There was a lot of enjoyment from being together and taking part.

Over the next few weeks; we will have puppet making, DJing and LEGO making, plus more!

Clay models of dogs are on a table. There is art equipment on the table; such as a red tray with a scalpel and a paintbrush on it. The bigger of the dogs is also on the red tray.
A sculpture of a face is on an orange table, next to drinking objects; such as a polystyrene cup with tea in it and a silver flask with a sticker on it that has 'hot water' written on it.
A cloth with colourful drawing of a green person with their arms in the air is shown on it on a colourful background, pinned to a wall, over a cloth with a colouful drawing of flowers on it.
A table with paintings on it. Someone's hand and arm are in the photograph, this person is doing a painting.
