Out Friday 1 August, Dancing with The Fortunes is the latest project by D.M.S. — a visual artist, musician and world-builder — bringing together a cast of 54 original characters, a fully imagined set, an animated storyline, and a 12-track album.

This is a concept record like no other, featuring iconic contestants like Tom Brows and Look Black (famous for being very good at the computer), battling it out on stage under the watchful eyes of the toughest judges in the game: Shavon Notell, Spotty Mick, Planet Sister, Dayle Maye and Maria Barry. The stakes? Nothing less than ultimate glory: winning Dancing with The Fortunes!

Dancing with The Fortunes was developed through one-to-one sessions with Rosie Ridgeway and regular art studio time at Heart n Soul’s visual arts project the Feel Good Designers.

D.M.S. is a visual artist, singer-songwriter and emerging DJ whose work is full of colour, attitude and imagination. From drawing and sewing to music-making and performance, Danielle creates joyful, honest work that reflects her unique view of the world.

She’s known for turning everyday moments into catchy tunes—like supermarket anthem ‘Money For The Tin’—and has made award-winning videos packed with handmade props and costumes. ‘Can’t Stop Drawing’, filmed during lockdown with her brother Matthew, won Youth Music’s Music Video of the Year Award.

As a member of the Feel Good Designers, her artwork has been shown at the Tate Modern and Wellcome Collection. Her work is also featured in Heart n Soul’s textiles and sticker designs.
