Funding for disability arts is available through a range of organisations including Arts Council England, which is the nation development agency for the arts.

Disability is a priority within the Arts Council’s diversity agenda and one of its objectives is to support and champion equality in the arts and challenge discrimination.

Arts Council England has published Celebrating Disability Arts to mark
the United Nations International Day of Disabled Persons. The book looks at thirty years of pioneering work in the development of disability arts by companies and individuals including, Graeae, Mind-the-gap, Candoco, Johnny Crescendo, Maria Oshodi, Heart ’n Soul and Survivors’ Poetry.

The book chronicles how the disability arts movement fought for
recognition of disabled people as a culturally diverse group within
society. The publication is intended as an acknowledgement of the achievements of the pioneers in the disability movement who have put disability arts at the forefront of public awareness. The arts organisations profiled in the book are now regularly funded by the Arts Council.
