Tax is the money that we all give to the Government to pay for things that we share. The Government gives some of our tax money to the Arts Council to pay for good work in the arts.

The Arts Council has the job of giving this money to arts organisations, companies and artists. The Arts Council has to decide who deserves to have some of this money and must make sure that it is not wasted.
