Short Breaks
- We held an open day funded by Lewisham Council’s Short Breaks project on Saturday 13 March. The project provides support for young people with severe learning disabilities and autism and their families. It is an opportunity for children to try new activities and for parents and carers to take a break.
- Twelve young people tried out DJing, VJing, dance, drama and music. There was also a meeting for parents; they talked about what they would like from their breaks.
- We will be holding extra Short Breaks sessions leading up to April’s Squidz Club.
“What a great day to meet other parents and hear yet again what we all want and know are good opportunities for our young people. It’s great to know about an extension of your work.” - Zelda McCullum, mum
