Electric Fire are excited to announce the release of their debut 4 track EP ‘EFX’. Describing their sound as “chain funk” and “egg electro”, the EP is filled with kaleidoscopic party bangers that invite you in to dance, sing along and get lost in their world.
Electric Fire is made up of Alicia (vocals), Ehima (drums and percussion), Sam (synths and vocals) and William (laptop, production and vocals). The band came together at creative arts company Heart n Soul. Their sound was further developed when they started using cutting edge digital music technology in collaboration with Heart n Soul's SoundLab project.
Tracks on ‘EFX’ include Club Smash, Pop the Balloon, Keep On Moving and End It. They bring together their love for Hip Hop, House, Techno, Pop and R’n’b using electronic beats, sampling and synths. All the band members have learning disabilities and their unique way of seeing and experiencing the world comes through in their music making it free from cynicism, pretension and full of joy!
Electric Fire have been playing and touring around the UK for the past two years, the EP being a result of honing their songs playing live. They have collaborated with the London Symphony Orchestra and appeared at DIY Space For London, the Barbican, The Royal Festival Hall, Tate Modern, Young Dada Fest and Heart n Soul’s Beautiful Octopus Club. They are set to perform in Hong Kong in April 2019.
