Three cheers for artist Lizzie Emeh who won the arts category at the Radar Awards, which celebrates achievements by disabled people. Lizzie accepted her award in front of a packed audience including Minister of Work and Pensions Iain Duncan Smith. Lizzie said: “I just feel so proud, words can’t describe how I really feel.”

The Fish Police have been gaining new fans after performances at the Lincoln Center in New York and the Dada Fest in Liverpool. They even appeared on BBC 2’s Culture Show. Click here to see some of their adventures in New York. |

There were more awards for Heart n Soul when Gerry Tracey’s film Twinkletoes won the best first narrative award at the Scottish Mental Health and Arts Film Festival. Gerry went to Edinburgh with Mark Williams and Tom Hadley, who directed the film, to pick up her award. See the film here. |

Funding success!
Great news! NHS Lewisham have given us £4,000 to try our new project Adults Taking Part. The project will be made up of arts sessions for up to fifty adults with learning disabilities starting in early 2011. |

Going green
Becky Bell and Kat Kilshaw went on a Green Action Plan Training course looking at ways Heart n Soul could be friendlier to the earth. The first step will be looking at small changes we can make in the office. |
